A video of the iPhone 14 Pro that went viral on Twitter claims that Apple will allow users to choose between separate or connected holes. But the video is unlikely to be true, although it may be persuasive.

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are expected to have two physical holes at the top of the screen to replace the notch, a capsule-shaped hole for the TrueDepth camera system and a smaller hole for the selfie camera. And recent leaks indicated that Apple will digitally merge the two holes into one by turning off the pixels between them to create a larger hole in the form of a medicine capsule. It is said that Apple plans to use the pixels between the holes to display information such as privacy indicators related to the camera and mic.

A video clip from Weibo indicates that users of the iPhone 14 Pro will be able to customize the appearance of the holes on the iPhone Pro. The video shows a person toggling a setting that turns the pixels between the two slots on and off, allowing the user to choose how they want the top of their iPhone 14 Pro to appear.

The authenticity of the video is highly questionable and unlikely to be authentic. The video claims to show an early working look at the iPhone 14 Pro actually, but it's clear that various aspects of the device shown in the video are outside of what we expect, including the actual positions of the shape of the holes, thickness of the edges, and more.

Regardless of the video's credibility, the possibility that Apple would give users a choice between the two possible appearances of the shape of the holes is unlikely.

In addition, an apparently reliable source on the MacRumors forums, who has been sharing extensive information on the iPhone 14 Pro ‌ for the past several days, said that the option to disable the black pixel between the holes is not expected to happen or Apple adopts such a method. This source initially broke the news using the pixel-per-holes for iOS privacy indicators, and is the source behind the always-on display on the iPhone 14 Pro as well.

Apple is expected to announce the new iPhones during an event on Wednesday, September 7th, along with that, we expect a completely new lineup of the Apple Watch, including the Apple Watch Pro.

Do you think the video is correct? Tell us in the comments.
