All four iPhone 16 models will come with a completely new button, on the right side of it below the power button. This is where the mmWave 5G antenna is located, so Apple may move it to the other side.
This button will be dedicated to taking photos and videos when the iPhone is in horizontal orientation. It is primarily designed to capture horizontal 3D video for display on Vision Pro glasses, in addition to being used to capture regular videos and photos as well.
Reports indicate that the button will be a traditional mechanical button similar to the power and volume buttons, but with support for different levels of pressure sensitivity. Users will be able to tap lightly to focus and then press harder to take a photo or start recording. Its functionality will be quite similar to the capture button in the multifunctional camera app.
In addition, the standard iPhone 16 models will also have the Action button, which is currently found in the iPhone 15 models. Therefore, both the Action button and the Capture button will be available across the entire iPhone 16 lineup.
Screen Size
Apple has been using 6.1- and 6.7-inch screen sizes since the 12 iPhone 2020 models, and it appears that it is planning to introduce slight increases in the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max screens. It is expected that the iPhone 16 Pro will have a screen measuring approximately 6.3 inches, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a screen measuring 6.9 inches. Despite the size adjustment, the thickness of the devices will remain unchanged, although there may be a slight increase in weight due to the larger dimensions.
Unfortunately, the size change will be limited to the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max this year, and the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will still measure 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches, respectively.
These modifications will only apply to the Pro models, while the standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models will maintain the same current screen size of 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches, respectively. This decision indicates strategic differentiation in the product range, which is likely aimed at providing diverse options to meet diverse consumer preferences and needs.
Camera upgrades
It appears that Apple is implementing important changes to camera settings across all models of the iPhone 16 lineup. For the regular iPhone 16 and Plus:
◉ New camera design “vertical instead of diagonal”.
◉ The ability to record spatial video, which is a feature currently exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models.
But the most important improvements are for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
◉ The ultra-wide camera gets a significant boost to 48MP for better low-light photos.

The iPhone 16 Pro models will receive a special upgrade for faster internet. They will be equipped with the new Qualcomm X75 modem chip, and this means better speeds, less power usage, and perhaps fewer dropped connections.
