WhatsApp is developing some new features for users through Upcoming updates In the future, God willing. Among these features is the feature of verifying images sent via the application. In another context, WhatsApp launched a new feature in its latest update to enable users to customize chat colors on the iPhone. Here are all the details…
WhatsApp is testing a web-based image verification feature
According to recent reports about WhatsApp, the platform is testing a new feature that will allow users to search for images on the web. When opening any received image, the user will be able to tap on the three dots in the top corner to reveal the option to search for the image on the web.
All this is so that users can verify the authenticity of the image and search for whether the image was created by artificial intelligence or is it a real image. In addition, when searching for the image on the web, it will be sent via Google, where algorithms compare the image to get all the information related to it and provide comprehensive and fast results.
However, the new feature from WhatsApp is compatible with users' privacy, as the image is not stored or processed on WhatsApp servers. It is worth noting that this feature is only available for images sent via WhatsApp, and cannot be used on images that are displayed once or View Once.
It doesn’t end there, WhatsApp is currently testing a new feature to check frequently forwarded links. What’s new about this feature is that it will be entirely optional, so no data is shared without users’ explicit consent.
WhatsApp launches a feature to customize chat colors on the iPhone
In the latest update of the WhatsApp platform, a new feature has been added to the application that enables iOS users to customize the colors and backgrounds of the chat. 20 new colors have been added to choose from. It is worth noting that WhatsApp did not indicate in its new update any change in the chat section or its themes, but it has begun to enable iPhone users to access a new set of themes and colors. In addition, these colors can be customized for a specific chat without generalizing them to all chats.
WhatsApp has added 20 colors and more than 22 themes that can be used to customize the chat interface on your iPhone. If you want to use the new feature, go to the app settings and choose the Chats section. FYI, the new wallpapers allow you to change the look of the app completely.
Additionally, the app will automatically choose a background that matches your chosen chat color. This gives users a monochromatic experience to ensure a consistent look. All of this does not conflict with the privacy that WhatsApp is always keen on, as the colors or any themes you choose as a user will be visible only to you and will not affect how messages are displayed to other parties. This ensures that each user can customize the app to suit them without imposing changes on others.
So far, the chat color customization feature is only available to iPhone or Apple users. But WhatsApp will gradually start rolling out the feature to all its users.
