in IOS 18 update Many new features have been added to the Reminders app to increase productivity and make the app more reliable than ever before. Below we will explain all the new features in detail, God willing.

Do you rely on reminders app?

Personally, I rely on the Reminders app for many of my life tasks. For example, my wife, children and I share a list of requests. When developing an app, I put the tasks that need to be completed. The truth is that the Reminders app is indispensable for me. It is available in the system with a simple interface and is free. With the iOS 18 updates, I think it has become better.

What are the new Reminders app features in iOS 18?

Create and manage reminders in the Calendar app

One of the most important and biggest features that Apple has introduced in the Reminders app is the ability to create and manage reminders within the Calendar app. The feature also combines calendar events and reminders through one app in order to facilitate the user’s daily follow-up of important matters.

I know you won't get all the features of the Reminders app inside the Calendar app, but combining the two apps together will save you a lot of time and make it easier to track your tasks from one place with ease.

To create a new reminder from within the Calendar application: Follow the following steps:

Click on the (+) sign, choose (Reminder) from above, then write the details you want the app to remind you of.

Reorder today's list

In the second update to Smart Lists, you will be able to rearrange the different sections of the Today list by default and organize the Today list in the following order:

  • Missed reminders.
  • Reminders categorized under All-Day list.
  • Reminders that are timed and categorized into Morning, Afternoon and Evening.

Additionally, you can rearrange these three sections to display them in the way that suits you. This is done by going to the Today menu and clicking on the three dots in the upper right corner, choosing Edit Sections and dragging them to arrange them in the way that suits you.

Show subtasks within smart lists

One of the new features in the iOS 18 app is that it contains a set of smart lists such as the Today list and the Scheduled list. The new feature in iOS 18 is that smart lists support displaying subtasks, unlike before in iOS 17. But in iOS 18, you can display all subtasks at once within the list in an organized manner, whether in the Today list or (Scheduled). To do this, you have to click on the blue Subtasks at the bottom of the main task.

New Reminders App Shortcuts in iOS 18

Apple has added some new actions to the Reminders app to the Shortcuts app, making the user experience much easier than before.

New shortcuts from Apple include:

  • Show/hide completed reminders.
  • Show/hide a given Smart List.

Recover recently deleted lists

Sometimes we may delete things and want to get them back again; therefore, Apple added a new section that includes all the things that were recently deleted. It is worth noting that deleted reminders will remain in the deleted list for 30 days. This is the same way that happens in the Photos or Notes app.

The list is called Recently Deleted and you'll find it in the My Lists section. If you want to recover a reminder you deleted, go to the Recently Deleted list, click the circle next to it, and then click Recover.
