When you browse the software store from countries such as America, Britain, Australia and others and find an Arabic application name that occupies the first place, this is a shock ... It is not a shock to us Arabs, as Arabic words are familiar to us, but it was a shock to the West, who is fighting the largest companies Facebook, Google, Apple and arrives To first place and withstand all this period and sits on a challenge. This shock included some Arabs as well. Some have lost confidence in us as Arab developers and are desperate to offer any achievement. But believe it or not ... the application (Sarahah | frankly) developed by a young Saudi at the forefront of the software store.

The application of the modern frankness of Western media

The largest global technology site spoke about this Arab achievement, and I was surprised that it occupies the first place in some Western stores, surpassing the largest international companies.

Sarahah application story

The application is expressly done Created it By the Saudi developer Zine El Abidine TawfiqThe app is basically a social network that enables you to send and receive messages to someone else Without If your name is mentioned, you remain anonymous.

It has been explicitly built on the premise that people are more willing to be honest when their messages are anonymous, and the app has become particularly popular in Arabic-speaking areas and also among English-speaking teens.

An idea explicitly started in November 2016, when it was still a simple website and no app. Initially, it was explicitly intended to provide assistance to employees to provide feedback to employers while at the same time their identity remains anonymous.

"There is a problem in the workplace that employees need to communicate openly with their superiors," says Tawfiq, who works full time as a business systems analyst at an oil company in Saudi Arabia.

Tawfiq quickly realized that the service could be beneficial outside of a corporate setting. Friends may want to anonymously provide constructive feedback to each other as well. And in the fall of 2016, he launched the site and started sharing it with his group of friends.

And after he got to know the app, a group of famous social sites grew from about 70 users to more than a thousand in just a few days. Soon it "spread like a virus", throughout the other Arab countries, and began to spread in Lebanon, then Tunisia. Then everything changed when it finally arrived in Egypt in early 2017, and the Sarahah app crossed the barrier of 3 million registered users shortly after arriving in Egypt.

Soon after, people all over the world began to notice the application expressly. The application began to spread in Canada as well. Tawfiq believes it was promoted by Arab expatriates living in Canada, and quickly helped attract the attention of other users in Western countries, including those in the US and Australia.

It was here that he explicitly started spreading like a wildfire among teenagers in social media who were posting links explicitly to request feedback.

Why do some expect the fading of the star Saraha?

The presence of an application expressly in the first place in some foreign countries may have started because many Arab users have Western accounts and most of their account belongs to the American store, but unfortunately the evaluation of an application explicitly in the software store is very low and this may prevent a lot of its spread more, and the reason for this low evaluation It is the terrible and unexpected increase in the number of users that led to the collapse of the application servers and also some other problems in the application itself.

We contacted the founder of the Saraha application, “Zain Al-Abidin Tawfiq,” and told us that most of the problems were solved in the application, and work is underway now to make the application more stable.

Also, this type of application has been around for a while, such as the Yik Yak application, the Whisper application, and the Secret. All of these apps are gone and some have disappeared, and some have been closed due to the hate speech that started to spread and pushed a number of teenagers into a bad state of depression. An application like Yik Yak has reached a value of $ 400 million, and yet it cannot control the problems caused by this type of application.

Therefore, some expect the same fate to apply explicitly, but we certainly know that the founder of Sarahah will learn from the mistakes of others and will work quickly to develop frankly and elevate it to the world.

Are we fighting success?

The existence of an application such as explicitly produced by an Arab person and in cooperation with Arab support institutions is the pride of every Arab, and instead of fighting success it must be supported and if we see errors in the application it can be addressed while preserving this success, we wonder that fighting these achievements comes from the people of the homeland The one and it is said that the application is a stolen idea, what is this talk, by God. Half of the Apple, Google and Facebook applications are developing ideas that already exist. Will success be fought! Instead of helping to spread Arab success, so we can have a new Arab success story, and to inspire other young people to create something like it.

I support Sarahah app

We do not have a camel or a camel to support this application, but we recommend supporting any Arab success. The success of the Arabs and the brotherhood is what we succeeded and their gains are ours. From this perspective, you must support your brothers and prefer them over others. Perhaps one of your children works in a great Arab company, and you would be one of its supporters when it was a small company.

This app is no longer available on the App Store. :-(
What do you think of this Arab achievement? Are you with or against the application explicitly

Before I forget you can send me letters of love and constructive criticism by frankness :)
