The time is almost up and iOS 11 will be released to everyone in a few days (September 19th) and as usual and unlike other operating systems :) everyone can upgrade to the latest operating system on the same day of its release. With this new version we will get hundreds of new features, the best of which is the unprecedented support for augmented reality, and as we have seen in several articles how developers are preparing for it, and today we will exclusively test a new application that will be released soon and it is considered one of the best measuring applications in augmented reality.

MeasureKit app
In this ad video for the app, it seems that everything works perfectly and the measurements are very exact, but this is the case with the ads, so does the app actually work really well? And can we rely on the upcoming applications of measurement in augmented reality?
We had the opportunity to test the application in a trial version, and we would love to pass this on to you.
The result
The application needs to discover surfaces and needs certain conditions in order to come up with correct sizes, and if the background has many elements or drawings, this application may distract and make it not recognize the surface and thus give inaccurate measurements. Also, lighting on it is a factor. If the lighting is low or high, it may not be. The application is also able to recognize surfaces. Also, there are tools that are better than others, for example, the angle measuring tool that is not disputed and works every time. As for the ruler, the quality of measurement depends on the surface and the realization of its application and its dimensions in reality.
The important question is: Can these applications be relied upon to obtain accurate measurements? At the moment no, but you can get approximate measurements which are sufficient for a lot of us. Certainly soon, Apple will improve augmented reality, and also developers will work to improve their applications, and we will get highly accurate measurements.
