Yesterday evening, WhatsApp, which is owned by Facebook, launched a new update for its application on iPhone devices to support video calling. This update had arrived the day before for Android devices. And this is after nearly a year of the leaked news about the advent of the service.

Last December, the company leaked news that WhatsApp would support video calling. Then, in the middle of this year, it launched the communication service for Apple devices, as well as developed its encryption system to become End To End, meaning that the content comes out encrypted from your device and remains encrypted until it reaches whoever you talk to. But video calls remained unavailable until yesterday as the company started providing them to one billion users around the world.

There is a separate button for video chatting (on Android there is a unified button for video calling and voice calling). Of course, the contact will appear in the application's calls list, as well as your contact with a mark explaining whether it is an audio or video call

Your device must be iOS 8 or later for the video connection to work and of course, to allow WhatsApp to use the camera. The connection is encrypted, as the company says. If you have iOS 10, you will receive the connection directly in the screen, and otherwise, a notification will be similar to the previous one. The conversation includes some good features. For example, if you make a "silent" mute for your conversation, he will tell the other person this to know and wait until you return the sound so that what you are saying is not lost.
